Project Manager and Principal Designer on behalf of NHS Property Services, Oander were responsible for the management and delivery of a new L1 Fire Alarm System throughout the existing hospital including scoping of the works, procurement, contract administration and overall client representation.
The new system was a combined radio transmission (ground / first floor) and hard wired (loft space) system. The radio wireless element enabled the new system to be installed with minimal disruption to the operational premises.
Project scope consisted of installing 500+ new fire detectors throughout the hospital, a new addressable fire control panel and repeaters linked to the existing BMS and with future provision for linking to the hospital lifts and door entry systems
Work also included the installation of new walkways and hatches with the loft spaces to facilitate the installations and future maintenance.
Oander facilitated regular stakeholder workshops to ensure all interested parties were informed and aware of the works taking place. Successful project delivery was in conjunction with system installer and main contractor Booker & Best Ltd supported by System Designer / Commissioner S2 Fire.
