Oander is pleased to announce the successful completion of essential car park improvement works at Dartford West Health Centre, delivered on behalf of NHS Property Services.
Project Overview
The project addressed long-standing drainage and surface level issues that had caused persistent flooding within the patient car park. Acting as Contract Administrator and Principal Designer (CDM), Oander worked closely with the wider delivery team to ensure the works were completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to healthcare services.
The design team included Project Centre Limited as Architect and Principal Designer (BSA), while the Principal Contractor role was undertaken by Trinity Surfacing Limited following a competitive tender process.

Scope of Works
The programme focused on improving drainage performance and resurfacing the patient and staff parking areas. Key elements included:
- Installation of a new drainage system to significantly improve surface water management
- Planing and reprofiling of existing tarmac to correct levels and eliminate pooling
- Replacement of white lining to provide clear and efficient parking bays
- Minor brickwork repairs to retaining walls within the staff parking area
To ensure continuity of healthcare services, all construction activity was carefully scheduled for weekends, allowing uninterrupted weekday access for patients and staff.
Positive Outcomes
The completed upgrade has delivered a safer, more accessible, and more reliable parking environment. Feedback from both patients and staff has been overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the noticeable improvements in drainage, usability, and overall appearance.
