Oander Supports Delivery of New Leach Rehabilitation Hub at Leatherhead Hospital

You are here: Home / Oander News / Oander Supports Delivery of New Leach Rehabilitation Hub at Leatherhead Hospital

1 June, 2026 by Barry Mason

Oander is proud to have played a key role in the successful delivery of the new Leach Rehabilitation Hub at Leatherhead Hospital, providing Quantity Surveying, Principal Designer, and Project Management services throughout the project.

Now fully operational, the new Hub brings together musculoskeletal (MSK) services under one roof, creating a modern and integrated healthcare environment designed to improve patient outcomes, support staff wellbeing, and enhance the overall patient experience.

The redevelopment has transformed existing facilities to provide refurbished treatment rooms, a large open-plan rehabilitation gym, welcoming waiting areas, and upgraded support facilities. The new space has also enabled the co-location of the MSK Clinical Assessment and Triage Service (MCATS) and Community Physiotherapy Team, allowing for greater collaboration between clinical teams and a more seamless patient journey.

Key improvements delivered through the project include:

  • Increased rehabilitation space to support patient recovery and therapy programmes
  • Modern, flexible clinical environments designed to meet current and future service needs
  • Air conditioning throughout the facility
  • Enhanced facilities for both patients and staff

Working closely with the client team and wider project stakeholders, Oander provided end-to-end support across project delivery, helping to ensure the scheme was delivered efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on quality, value, and patient-centred outcomes.

Leatherhead Hospital has served the local community since 1940 and remains a vital part of healthcare provision across Surrey Downs. The Leach Rehabilitation Hub represents a significant investment in community healthcare infrastructure and demonstrates a continued commitment to delivering high-quality care closer to home.

The project also celebrates the hospital’s heritage through the restoration of the portrait of Mr Leach, whose generosity helped establish the hospital on its current site. Supported by the League of Friends of Leatherhead Hospital, the restored portrait now takes pride of place within the Hub’s waiting area, connecting the facility’s future with its rich history.

The successful completion of the Leach Rehabilitation Hub is the result of strong collaboration between the NHS, project partners, and delivery teams. Oander is delighted to have contributed to a facility that will make a lasting difference to patients, healthcare professionals, and the wider community for years to come.

As specialists in healthcare project delivery, Oander continues to support NHS organisations and healthcare providers in creating modern, efficient, and sustainable environments that improve care, enhance operational performance, and deliver long-term value.
